Encoded Memories: Group Exhibition and Community Event

Betty Kim, a lens-based artist who uses self-portraiture, archival materials, pop culture, and fiction and non-fiction sources to create work, designed a community project that incorporates transfer techniques using historical images from the Oak Park, Illinois area. Over several workshops and community events held at the Library’s main branch, she alongside fellow Oak Park artists Jill Obermaier, Cindy Trim and Bethany Cordero, created an exhibition that incorporates their work and the work of local residents. The exhibition will be on view at the Oak Park Public Library beginning May 2nd, 2025. Opening Reception will be held on May 8th, from 6-8 pm and all participating artist will be in attendance.
